Answer: It will come at the “last trumpet”—also called the seventh trumpet.
The word “rapture” — just like the word “Trinity” — is found nowhere in your Bible. True Christians place their hope in an even more amazing event that is described in your Bible… an event that definitely will not occur in secret. This particular event is prophesied to occur at a very specific time – but not before earth-shaking events have already taken place…and definitely not in secret!
The book of Revelation explains the many trumpet blasts that will come during the prophesied Day of the Lord, just before Christ’s return, at the end of this present age, as warnings of the impending calamities that will follow each blast. We read in Revelation 11:15, "Then the seventh angel sounded: and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, 'The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!'"
When you combine the trumpets and loud voices with the other verses in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, it is clear that after these mighty, earth-shaking trumpet blasts, Jesus will descend and the saints—both dead and alive—will be “caught up” with Him in the air at the blowing of this seventh trumpet.
No, there will be no “secret rapture” before the return of Christ. Instead, His return will follow cataclysmic signs and will be very visible. It will occur after the ride of the Four Horsemen and the Great Tribulation. It will occur at the end of this present age, when both the dead and those living in Christ will be “caught up” to meet the Lord in the air. This Second Coming will be an event experienced worldwide, taking place after the Tribulation, after the seventh trumpet talked about in the book of Revelation has sounded.
Christ foretold of the timeline of events, as did the prophets. A timeline of events of these prophesied events may be seen below.
