Answer: Yes. Satan does have access to God and he is still very active today. The Bible tells us to be on guard at all times. 1 Peter 5:8-9, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."

Satan is called the accuser of the brethren, according to the book of Revelation. Revelation 12:10, "Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down."

Because Satan’s fate is sealed, he knows that he has just a short time—so he’s angry and annoyed. He wants to destroy lives, create war and tear apart families. He is determined to take out his wrath and destruction on anyone and everyone he can. Revelation 12:12, " Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time."

Satan’s active, evil spirit is working right now in those who disobey God’s commandments. Ephesians 2:2-3, "in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience."  We are fighting more than just each other. The Bible is clear that we are fighting against active evil spirits. The Bible encourages us to recognize who we are fighting and to prepare ourselves for this very real and dynamic battle. Ephesians 6:11-12, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Because Satan has access to God and to us we need to be watchful and attentive of his traps and tricks. Our only power against these active and evil forces is to stay close to God and to obediently submit and keep His commandments.
